 Levi's® Vintage Clothing 1954 501® Jean was originally launched as "501® Z" and represents Levi's® expansion in new soils. In the mid-1950s Levi's® began selling the 501® Jeans on the east coast of America. By this time, the western states had been the main sales area since 1873, the year when jean was first produced and had loyal followers. However, those on the east coast were unfamiliar with these button-down work pants. Levi's® has introduced a new version so that it can attract more people. They replaced the classic buttons of the original 501® Shrink-to-Fit Jean with a zipper and named it “501® Z”. They did not touch other details that long-wearers liked: its famous cut, rivets and tough but flexible denim fabric. Retailers started offering customers both options — the 501® Jean and its zippered brother, the 501® Jean Z.
